The JSS Hospital is the teaching hospital of JSS Medical College. The college is located in a sprawling 43 acre campus in Sri Shivarthreeshwara Nagara, Mysuru City, which is about 140 km from Bengaluru. The JSS College was started in the year 1984 and has been designed and equipped to provide quality medical education. It is supported by highly qualified and experienced staff, well equipped laboratories, library and modern teaching aids.
The graduate and post-graduate programs of the college are recognized by the Medical Council of India. The courses offered are also recognized by the General Medical Council (UK), Sri Lanka Medical Council and WHO. The college has been recognized by the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, UK, for the award of MRCOG.
The college was affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka during 1995-1996. The JSS Medical College became a constituent college of the JSS University (Established under Section-3 of UGC Act) after its formation in 2008.
JSS Hospital is one of the pioneers in offering comprehensive medical services in Mysuru. A notable feature of this hospital is that it caters to the needs of the patients of rural parts of the districts viz., Mysuru, Chamarajnagar and Mandya. The college is also recognized by the General Medical Council, Sri Lanka Medical Council and WHO. Post-graduate courses in various faculties, PhD and Para Medical Courses have also been started
The college offers UG course in medicine (M.B.B.S) and PG degree (M.D/M.S) and Diploma programmes in 18 medical disciplines. The sanctioned annual intake to M.B.B.S is 150.
