Research & study being done about Sickle Cell Disease by JSS Medical College in Andolana news paper. National Task force for Sickle Cell Disease under ICMR is functioning to develop National SCD program in 6 states of India. This is being conducted in 3 phases. The intervention phase of this project was implemented in the population covered by 2 PHCs in HD kote taluk of Mysore Dist by JSS Medical college From Karnataka the project has been granted to Dr Deepa Bhat, Dr Basavanagowdappa, Dr Sunilkumar D, Dr Jagdishkumar K from JSS Medical College, JSSAHER for 2 yr 9 mths. This work is being carried out among tribal population of HD byKote. Till date 50 homozygous and 200 traits have been detected educated counseled and manged by the team.
