Children cannot say what is bothering them, nor can they answer questions asked by the doctor. They are impatient during examination and are usually not cooperative during the check-up. Hence they will need special care and attention by the treating doctors and not every other doctor. The department of Pediatric surgery was established in 2001 by Dr Anil Kumar M G and has over 20 years’ experience in handling complex surgical illnesses in children. The team is composed of Dr Anil Kumar M G professor and Head, Dr Sudhamshu K C Assistant Professor and Dr Divya Hosur ( Paediatrician ). The department offers round the clock emergency services and Outpatient services on Monday and Friday and Inpatient and surgical services. The department also trains postgraduates of General surgery during their rota.
The department is one of the only hospitals handling pediatric airway emergencies and foreign bodies in Mysore, Chamarajanagar and Madikeri districts.
