PEDIATRICS is a branch of Medicine that care for New-borns, infants, children, and adolescents.

The Department was established in 1985 and has evolved over a period of years into one of the best tertiary care centres. The dedicated paediatric team known for its compassionate and holistic care of the child attracts patients from distant places around Mysuru.

The Department of Paediatrics comprises of 5 units – 4 general paediatric units and 1 neonatal unit Apart from offering the high quality clinical care, we are also active in research and innovations. constantly updating, and working towards advancing the preventive and rehabilitative services.

The valuable support from other specialties such as Paediatric Surgery, Orthopaedics, Urology, nephrology, neurology, ENT, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Gastroenterology, Dermatology, plastic surgery and Pedodontia, physiotherapy and occupational therapy ensures that we offer the best comprehensive care to the child.

In addition, there are 24-hour laboratory services, blood transfusion services with facilities for component therapy.

  • Pediatric ward is 120 bedded with 11 beds in PICU and has 6300 admissions per year.
  • OPD runs between 9 AM and 4 PM with 47000 outpatients per year.
  • Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) The NICU is a 40-bedded unit, with around 1800 admissions a year. Neonatal unit comprises of intensive care, high dependency care and special care facilities along with routine newborn care. We offer advanced neonatal care in terms of care of extreme premature babies, mechanical ventilation, parenteral nutrition, dialysis and neonatal surgery. Except for complex cardiac surgeries, all other management is available under one roof. Apart from offering the high quality clinical care, we are also active in research and innovations.
