Dr Akshay completed his graduation from JSS Medical College and Post-graduation in Anesthesia and critical care from MS University, Baroda Government Medical College and was appointed in the anesthesia department since 2014. His areas of special interests are critical care and ultrasound in ICU. He has a passion in teaching, research and believes in helping students to better their education and goals in life. He has pursued a fellowship in critical care for a year and working as Intensivist in ICU and is well versed in ICU management and special interest in sepsis and ARDS patients. And has been faculty in various CME in critical care. He has started prone ventilation for ARDS and all USG guided procedures including bed side percutaneous tracheostomy.
Routinely performs bedside bronchoscopy and can handle fibre optic during difficult airway in ICU
COVID ICU
The sudden upsurge of covid cases with increase requirement in ICU beds threw a sudden challenge of treating critically ill covid patients and was effectively managed by Dr. Akshay in spite of many hurdles. He headed the team with support of his teammates and Management.
Many life saving procedures including percutaneous tracheostomy were performered in COVID patients.
