Dr. Pratibha Matche is a senior faculty in the department of Anesthesiology, Pain Medicine and Critical care. She is the Coordinator of Pain and Palliative care unit. She is a Programme head of the Indian Academy of Pain Medicine (IAPM) affiliated Fellowship in Pain medicine at JSSAHER
She has graduated from B.J. Medical College Pune with Post graduation in Anesthesiology from Nair hospital Mumbai. She has joined JSS Medical College Mysore in 1997 and has 24 years of clinical experience in providing Anaesthesia, analgesia & critical care services to the patients of various surgical specialties and super specialties.
She is passionate about Pain Medicine and she has major contribution in setting up & establishing Pain and Palliative Care unit with the state-of-art facilities at JSS hospital since 2009.
She is awarded with Fellowship in pain medicine by IAPM and certified in Palliative care from prestigious institution, Tata memorial hospital Mumbai.
She is the first Pain Physician in Mysore trained in Interventional pain management and Palliative care and practicing the same for past 12 years.
She has expertise in managing various chronic pain conditions like low back pain (sciatica), orofacial pain, CRPS, Fibromyalgia, herpes zoster pain, postsurgical pain and all types of cancer pain syndromes using basic and advanced interventions under fluoroscopy and ultrasound guidance along with multi-disciplinary and holistic approach.
She also has skills of using advanced technology like Radiofrequency ablation which is used for giving long lasting pain relief using special needle and equipment which is available only at JSS Hospital in Mysore. This is beneficial for patients who are suffering from side effects of pain killers, who are not willing or unfit for surgery in conditions like Trigeminal neuralgia, Neck pain, Frozen shoulder, Knee arth

1.Known case of peripheral vascular disease with critical limb ischaemia of left upper limb with left ventricular thrombus with LV segmental hypokinesia and reduced LV function (LVEF-30%) treated with ultrasound guided stellate ganglion block with continuous perineural catheter.
2. 80 year old lady known case of Ca Oesophagus weighing 26 kg treated with fluoroscopy guided splanchnic RFA.
