Dr.S.Rajendra Prasad is working as Associate professor in the Department of General Medicine at JSS Hospital and Medical College, JSSAHER.
He has done his undergraduate and postgraduate course from Mysore Medical College, University of Mysore. At present he is taking care of the “Comprehensive Diabetic Care Centre” at JSS Hospital. He has developed several protocols in the evaluation of the diabetic patients at this centre. The main objective of this centre is to provide a comprehensive care of Diabetes Mellitus under one roof with special emphasis on early diagnosis and prevention of complications.
Those with prediabetes are also educated so that the onset of Diabetes can be prolonged
Before joining JSS, he worked in Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement, Sargur, H.D.Kotetaluk for 18 years serving the rural and tribal population.
He always believes in low cost ethical medical care and imparts the same values to his students. In 2018-19, he received the best Teacher award and he loves teaching. He always tries to adopt innovative practices in teaching methodologies. He has been trained in HIV Medicine at University of South Florida, Tampa, USA and Ruby Hall clinic, Pune. He has done a Certificate Course in Evidence Based Diabetes Management These training have helped him in a long way to give quality care to his patients.
He has got vast experience in the field of HIV Medicine. He is liked by patients for his humane service. He gives Technical guidance to the Anti Retroviral Treatment (ART) centre at JSS Hospital.
He has been appointed as an external expert from NACO (National AIDS Control Organization), New Delhi for SACEP (State AIDS Clinical Expert Panel), which takes care of patients from nearby 5 districts who have failed the first line ART regimen. He has also presented papers in the National and International conferences. He has guided several
