Profile

Dr Subhash Chandra is a Professor and HOD, Department of General Medicine. He did his under graduation from Kempe Gowda Institute of Medical Sciences, Bengaluru 1983 to 1989 and Post-Graduation from Government Medical College, Bellary 1990 to 1993.  He joined JSS medical college in the year Nov 1993 as a Lecturer and worked as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor. From 2007 he has been promoted as Professor and from March 2016 he has been appointed as Head of the Department of General Medicine.

       He is Teacher by passion & consultant astute Physician.  He is admired by his student for his Teaching, Discipline and Clinical skills and applauded by his patients for humane and empathetical approach. He has several research publication in his credit. He has published twenty five research articles in National and International Journals. He is a member of Academic council  of JSSAHER-Deemed to be university. He was Chairman of PG board of studies (Medicine and allied subjects) JSSAHER. He was awarded with few Orations in the state level conferences. He has delivered invited guest lectures and conducted CPC in the state level conferences.

       He is life member of National and state level Professional organisation  API, RSSDI and served as Vice Charmain and Chairman of API Karnataka branch and Mysuru chapter respectively. He is member and rotating trustee of Medical Education Research Trust (MERT), Bengaluru and Mysuru Physicians Medical Research Trust (MPMRT), Mysuru. He is actively involved in the professional organisation work both in state and local branch. He was Organising secretary of Karnataka state API conference, KAPICON-2017 held at Mysuru.

     He is actively involved in the care of Covid 19 patients. He has initiated Covid ward rounds himself  to motivate and inspire others. This has boosted morale, reduced
