Profile

Mr Krishna Karthik, MSc alumni of JSS Medical college is currently working as Tutor in the department and is pursuing his PhD in Mycobacteriology. He has keen interest on Epidemiological studies and Molecular typing of Mycobacteria. He is also a Co-Principal investigator for 2 minor projects funded by NTEP (National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme). He is actively involved in teaching students of Allied health and other paramedical courses (Nursing, BPT, Clinical Embryology, Forensic Odontology). Presently he is actively working in Molecular lab and involved in RT-PCR COVID-19 testing in the department. He has presented several oral papers and posters in National and State level conferences. He also received silver medal in a state conference organized by IAMM (Indian Association of Medical Microbiologists) at SDM Medical College Dharwad. He is trained in several diagnostic techniques in Mycobacteriology at National Tuberculosis Institute (NTI), Bangalore and Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore. He has several publications to his credit in National, international and peer reviewed indexed journals.
