Profile

Dr. Chetak K B MD (Pediatrics) completed his graduation from JJM Medical College, Davangere in 2002 and went on to complete his post-graduation in Pediatrics from MR Medical College, Gulbarga in 2008. He joined as registrar in PICU at K.R. Hospital, Bangalore and took training in pediatric critical care for 2 years 10 months. After a short stint as visiting consultant in K.R. Hospital, he joined JSS Medical College in 2012 as Senior Resident. In 2014, he was promoted as Assistant Professor and has been working in this institute till date.  

Dr. Chetak continues to work in pediatric critical care with area of interest being sepsis. With more than 10 years of experience, he has handled many challenging and sick children with many successful outcomes. He has been actively involved in teaching nursing, undergraduate and postgraduate students in the department. He is also Infection surveillance and control officer and has actively involved in training of infection control nurses and staff nurses for more than 2 years. He has headed Quality department for 1 year and also active member of medical record audit committee. He has actively involved in training of health care workers during COVID pandemic for undergraduates, post graduates and staff of various allied department in infection control practices. He is the Nodal officer for COVID 19 Vaccination programme at JSS and continues to work in the fight against pandemic.

Dr. Chetak has been active in research and has many publications in indexed national and international journals. He is part of ongoing projects and has keen interest in research.
