Dr. Deepti Thandaveshwara is a Pediatrician and a trained neonatologist working for the past 6 years in JSS Medical College. She is a proud alumini of JSS Medical College. She has completed her MD in Paediatrics from JJM Medical College, Davangere and Fellowship in Neonatology from the esteemed Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health, Bangalore. She has worked at Neonatal Intensive Care Units at Bangalore and Mysore Medical College before joining JSS Medical College.
Her areas of interest include neonatal resuscitation, preterm care and developmental supportive care. She has cared for various sick neonates admitted to the NICU particularly extremely low birth weight neonates with a successful outcome. She has strived to set up the ‘BELAKU’ clinic, which is a multi-disciplinary follow up clinic for high-risk neonates. This clinic aims at providing a comprehensive care and rehabilitation to the high-risk infants.
She is also a certified national trainer for Basic and Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program under Indian Academy of Paediatrics and National Neonatology Forum. Dr. Deepti has a number of publications in indexed national and international journals to her credit. She has presented many papers and posters at state level conferences. She is currently part of many ongoing research projects and clinical trials. She is also involved in medical device development, two of which have been applied for patent and grants through JSSAHER. She is also an active member of Medical Education Unit, College Cultural Committee, Child Abuse Response unit. She is one of coordinators for the Visiting Students Learning Opportunities Program for Undergraduates. Dr. Deepti is very passionate about teaching undergraduates, postgraduates and nurses. She is very compassionate towards her patients and has a thirst for knowledge which makes her always willing to learn.
