Hi, I am Dr.Rudresh Hiremath, Professor and Head of Department of Radiodiagnosis, JSS Medical College, Mysuru. My native is Belagavi , one of the fast developing districts of north Karnataka. I completed my undergraduation from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College Belagavi in the year 2003; my post-graduation was from M S Ramaiah Medical College Bangalore (2005-2008). After post-graduation I started my Radiodiagnosis practice in Bagalkote, S N Medical College & HSK hospital, I worked in the mentioned medical college for three years as Assistant Professor. Then I continued working in medical colleges like Shri BLD Medical College Vijaypur (2011-2012) followed by Kurunji Venkatraman Gowda Medical College Sullia (2012-2018). I joined JSS medical college in the year 2018 as Professor.
In pursuit of academic excellence, furtherance to my Master degree, I completed DNB Radiodiagnosis in the year 2016 and bagged gold medal for that year. In the year 2018 I went to Austria and completed European diploma in Radiodiagnosis (EDiR).
My domain of expertise in addition to diagnostic radiology comprises of non-vascular interventions and area of specialisation is in gastrointestinal imaging, chest imaging and neuroimaging. I am competent in handling all kinds of image guided interventions like aspirations / drainage procedures, biopsies, fine needle aspiration cytology, pig tail insertion & transrectal ultrasound guided prostate biopsy.
I do have special interest in conventional radiological procedures and have performed good number conventional sialography in the present medical college to diagnose the diseases of drainage system of salivary glands and have published the same. Conventional sialography is tricky and skilful procedure.
I have tremendous interest in bowel ultrasonography which is meagerly touched in the routine abdominal sonography. Proper bowel ultrasound gives significant information to gastroenterologi
