The inception of Department of plastic surgery at JSS dates backs to more than 15 years ago which works in collaboration with the department of emergency medicine, neurosurgery, orthopedics, orthodontics, ENT. Department is headed by Dr. Ravi. H. S who is highly regarded as one of the best cosmetic and Hair Transplant surgeons in Mysore with chores of surgeries to his credit over the years. With MBBS and MS degree from Mysore Medical College, and MCh in Plastic Surgery from Ahmedabad (NHL medical college), he has also got his special training in the field of Cosmetic Surgery at various centers around the world including Mercy Hospital, Buffalo, New York
Department of plastic surgery caters to almost all emergency hand injuries, microvascular reconstruction for complex limb trauma, post-burn reconstruction, maxillofacial trauma, oncoplastic reconstruction, aesthetic breast surgery, oncoplastic breast reconstruction and other congenital anomalies like cleft lip, cleft palate, syndactyly, polydactyly, camptodactyly, hypoplastic thumb deformity, etC.
