More Than Just Doctors and Patients; Today on 18th February, my team from the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) department and I went on a special trip to Nanjangud with our patients. It wasn’t just another outing – it was a day filled with laughter, stories, and moments that reminded us why we do what we do.
A Journey of Connection and Care for both the Doctors & Patients; In the hospital, we see our patients battling through pain and challenges every day. But outside those walls, they’re more than just patients. They’re people with stories, dreams, and incredible strength. This trip gave us a chance to see that side of them – to connect beyond treatments and therapies.
The Magic of Nanjangud; This place is known for its beautiful temple and peaceful Kabini riverbank. Visiting the Nanjundeshwara Temple and Parashurama temple was a powerful experience. Watching our patients go around the temples, some with assistance and others independently, was inspiring. It was a reminder of their determination and the progress they’ve made. Moreover, with the help of the temple personnel, our team and the patients got to see God Shiva in a very peaceful and close manner – I may as well add that due to the metaphysical sacred aura of Nanjundeshwara Temple, the patients not only got a therapeutic outing but promoted their mental well-being for better recovery.
Building Bonds That Matter; For our PM&R team, this journey wasn’t just about patient care. It was about rediscovering the passion that brought us into this field. The shared experiences and the smiles we witnessed reaffirmed our commitment to making a difference. We returned not only with memories but also with a renewed sense of purpose.
A Takeaway Beyond Words; This trip to Nanjangud was more than just an outing. It taught us about patience, resilience, and the power of human connection, reminding us that healing is a blend of physical, emotional, and spiritual recovery.
Watching our patients embrace the journey, even in wheelchairs, was truly inspiring. Their smiles reflected a sense of freedom and joy. It wasn’t just a change of scenery – it was therapeutic. Stepping away from hospital routines brought them happiness that words can’t capture.
As we returned, Nanjangud’s landscapes faded in the rearview mirror, but the memories stayed with us. It was a day well spent, a bond well built, and a memory well cherished.
Until our next journey, we continue to heal, inspire, and grow – together.
