Dr. Dinesh Kumar is a Senior faculty in the Department of Cardiac Anesthesiology. He has graduated from Bangalore Medical College. He has completed his post-graduation in MD (Anesthesiology) from BJ Medical College Pune and DM (Cardiac thoracic and Vascular anesthesia) from SCTIMST Trivandrum one of the central government Institutes of National Importance. He has also completed a post-doctoral certificate course in cardiac and neuro-anesthesia from SCTIMST. A fellowship in transesophageal echocardiography was awarded from IACTA/IAE/ and the University of Minnesota in the year 2018. He joined JSS Medical College Mysore in 2013 and has 10 years of clinical experience providing Anesthesia to patients undergoing cardiac surgeries. He has expertise in Invasive cardiac monitoring, perioperative echocardiography, one-lung ventilation, and managing pediatric patients undergoing various cardiac surgery. He also specializes in managing patients undergoing various basic and advanced interventions in the cath lab. He was awarded the Vijayalakshmi Kamat award for the best paper in the 12th cardiac anesthesia update at Chennai 2017. He has won the Best Case of Mysore award in 2016 for the Anesthetic implications of thoracic-abdominal aortic aneurysm for an open repair and in 2017 Anesthetic implications in a case of ascending aortic aneurysm for open repair organized by ISA Mysore chapter. He is a regular faculty at various State and National conferences. He has presented several papers at these forums. He has a special interest in transoesophageal echocardiography during congenital heart surgery and device closure, ECMO, heart transplant, and mechanical assist devices.
