Dr. Mahesh P. A

I have a background in respiratory medicine, with specific training and expertise in airway diseases and tuberculosis. I have the expertise and training, leadership and motivation necessary to successfully carry out the research projects. My research includes Asthma in children and adults, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Food Allergy and Tuberculosis. As PI or co-Investigator on several Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Department of Science and Technology (DST), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), European Union and GHES, NIH (USA) grants, I have done large scale epidemiological studies involving house-to-house surveys and schools of more than 70,000 subjects. In addition. I have successfully administered the projects (e.g. staffing, research protections, budget) and have collaborated with other researchers from UC Berkeley, University of Chicago, Florida International University, National Jewish Health, Denver, University of NebraskaUSA, Imperial College, London, Institute of Food Research, Norwich, UK, Amsterdam Medical Centre and Leiden Medical Centre in Netherlands, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Siberian State Medical University in Russia, Karolinska Institute, Sweden . As a result of these previous experiences, I am aware of the importance of frequent communication among other project members and working on a multi-disciplinary and multi-national platform.
