Dr. Pallavi is presently Associate Professor in Blood Bank and Transfusion services, Department of Pathology.
She received her postgraduate degree in Pathology from Mysore Medical College, Mysore and later on did her fellowship in Transfusion Medicine at Department of Transfusion Medicine, University of Minnosota, USA.
She is trained in Component therapy, Immunohematology, Molecular techniques, Apheresis Technology, Quality control and transfusion support in various clinical conditions. She established the apheresis unit in the Department since installation of Cell Separator (Fresineus – Amicus) in August 2014. She assisted in designing the blood bank software and has started blood bank software working process interfaced with hospital information system (HIS). In her capacity as Associate Professor, the department has taken a lead in starting fully automated immunohaematologyanalyser (Qwalys@2) in Immunohaematology lab. Being Member Secretary of Hospital transfusion committee, she has promoted rational blood component therapy and safe transfusion practices.
- Provides consultation for the patients referred for component therapy and for the patients suspected to have haemolyticanaemia (AIHA, Alloantibody mediated, transfusion reactions, HDN).
- Organizes blood donation camps and counsels the donors. Delivery lectures on Voluntary blood donation and Apheresis.
