Working as Assistant professor in Medical Genetics department, JSS. Involved in Teaching and Research, Planning to work on molecular basis of complex and rare genetic disorders by examining various molecular genetic tools and medical genomic aspects to understand the pathophysiology causing a disease states, Screening the genes for their functional disability and its abnormal functioning by both enzymatic, Transcriptional and protein functions. I would like to work on rare genetic disorders, single/candidate gene approach and multifactorial disorders like cancer, ischemic heart disorders, type 2 diabetes mellitus etc. Which are the main areas of research emphasis. The primary emphasis will be on candidate genes that require clinical attention and whose role in biochemical pathways is still unclear.
