• I am academically oriented and have great interest in research. I pursued my Fellowship in Implantation Otology from Madras ENT Research Foundation under the mentorship of Padmasri Prof. Mohan Kameswaran in 2019. This degree is awarded by the Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University. I have also enrolled for a PhD program in JSS University in the year 2021.

• A 4 year old child with bilateral profound deafness was worked up for Cochlear Implantation. During the workup he was diagnosed to be having a rare syndrome Jervel Lange Neilson syndrome which consists of prolonged QT interval and sensori neural deafness. The risk of ventricular arrythmias and sudden cardiac death is a major risk factor in this condition. The child was managed with beta blockers and calcium pre operatively and once the QT interval reduced, we performed CI. The switch on also took place in the ICU under cardiac monitoring to prevent vagal stimulation by sound. The child is now undergoing Auditory Verbal Habilitation and doing well.
