Dr. S. Sudhir, Professor and Unit Chief in the Department of General Surgery at JSS Medical College and Hospital, Mysuru are an astute clinician and an excellent academician. Having completed MS General Surgery in 1997, he has since strived hard to deliver the best care to all patients, while aiming for academic excellence and upholding the values of the institution simultaneously. He brings with himself more than 20 years of experience in General Surgery viz. Laparoscopic surgeries, Thyroid Surgery and Breast Surgery and also has over 15 years of experience in the management of polytrauma cases and similiar emergency surgeries, viz. bowel perforations and intestinal obstructions, where timely surgical intervention has saved many a life. With a no-nonsense approach to work, he has always prioritized the care, health and well-being of the patients under his care first and foremost, and leaves no stone unturned in striving to provide the best care and facilities for all patients. In addition to providing quality patient care, he is also actively involved in the undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and has received widespread positive reviews from both students and colleagues alike both in India and abroad. He has to his credit, over 15 publications in various Journals of Indian and International acclaim and has evinced a keen interest in Research and Recent Advances in the respective field. His humble and easy to approach nature makes him very accessible to all the Staff and Students and is always available to provide assistance and guidance both in clinical and academic areas for the Junior staff and trainees. A stickler for Discipline and Punctuality, he is pursuing his Endeavour in providing world class health care in accordance with the goals of the hospital and is fervently striving to achieve academic excellence in concurrence with the vision of the University.
