Doing scientific research has been one of his aims since childhood. After joining medical school, he was privileged to interact with the patients and their caregivers, which made him to understand the impact of disease on the patient and their loved ones. He again learnt that prevention is better than cure and there is a need for quality medical research which focuses on all levels of preventive measures in disease and its progression. This can be achieved by providing health education to the people, practicing evidence based medicine and training the health care personnel.
The quality training and research helps in adding evidence to the science, which will improve the health care and training at a larger scale. Research is the only method which can impact the health at a larger scale and it is more important than treating an individual patient. He provides more focus on training the respiratory care technologists who are very important in providing quality respiratory care and monitoring the patients, so that they can prevent or recognize the problems / complications at an early stage and assist in providing timely interventions. Being in this team, He has learnt the basic aspects of clinical research and its importance. This will also allows him to be a better mentor of junior clinicians in the future and thereby accomplishing his long term goal to be a good clinician, ethical researcher and an informed mentor.
