Dr. Neetha. S. Murthy is an undergraduate from M.S Ramaiah Medical college. She completed her MD in Microbiology from RGUHS in the year 2016 and joined the Viral Research & Diagnostic laboratory, Mysore as a Medical Research Scientist. During her tenure as a research scientist she has been trained at NIV Pune in viral lab diagnostics by serological and molecular diagnostic modalities. She has worked as the microbiologist-in-charge of Intermediate Reference Laboratory (IRL) for Tuberculosis, Thiruvananthapuram under the banner of NTEP. She is trained from NTI Bangalore for TB phenotypic as well as genotypic diagnostics. During her tenure in the IRL she has technically and administratively managed a BSL-3 TB containment laboratory. she has been a part of the NTEP team involved in logistics planning & operationalization of in-vitro diagnosis of latent TB by IGRA. She has served as a master trainer for NTEP staff on mycobacteriology, DRTB management, Genexpert & Truenat testing. She is a NABL trained internal assessor as per ISO 15189-2012. During the Covid pandemic she has worked under the State health & family welfare department, Govt. of Kerala for drafting Truenat & CBNAAT based COVID testing advisories and as a quality assessor for RTPCR performing laboratories. She has presently returned to her hometown and joined JSS medical college as a senior resident in microbiology.
