After my Post Graduate Diploma in Radiodiagnosis(DMRD) at Madurai Govt. Medical College in 1981, I worked as Asst. Surgeon as radiologist in a District Hospital (500 bedded) for three years. In 1984, I Joined Calicut Govt. Medical College Hospital as Tutor in Radiodiagnosis and later promoted as assistant. and associate professor & worked in Trivandrum medical college and Kottayam medical college till 1998. All these years I was working in general radiology and was also in charge of Paediatric radiology dept at Trivandrum medical college. I joined as associate professor in Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute of Medical Sciences & Technology, Trivandrum in 1998. I had full time charge of CT Scan, MRI Scan and had done various interventional procedures like angioplasty, embolization procedures, CT guided biopsies etc. I was involved as a guide in projects and teaching of DM( Neuroimaging and Interventional Neuroradiology) which was started in 1999. I was promoted as additional professor in 2003 and later in 2010 as professor. I became head of department in 2010 till my retirement in 2017. I was reinstalled on governing body decision for 2 years further and was in charge of the DM (cardiac imaging and vascular intervention) Programme.

Achievements for the dept made during the period of HODship.
- In view of the high potency and scope, the concept of separating the cardiac imaging and vascular intervention from neuroimaging and intervention was introduced.
- The post doctoral certificate course exclusively for Cardiovascular Imaging And Vascular Interventional Radiology) was introduced in 2013 and it is the first of it’s kind in India. Later in 2017,a well structured 3 year DM (Cardiovascular Imaging And Vascular Interventional Radiology) was started.
- The technical staff in the department were given a platform to take classes for the Diploma in advanced imaging technology students and DM students regarding the technical aspects of MRI , CT scanner.
- Also, a yearly focussed technical CME Programme (FLAIR)was started in 2011.which runs successfully for the 9 th year now, attracting students not only from Kerala but also from neighboring states.
- Introduced technical projects for the students of Advanced Imaging Technology in the year 2011 in view of the availability of 256 slice CT
Scanner and High field 3T MRI scanner in the department.
- I acquired special skills in paediatric cardiac imaging with special training from Hospital for Sick Children, Toranto.
Initiated team work with Paediatric cardiac surgeons and paediatric cardiologists in the management of pediatric cardiac patients in SCTIMST.
- In collaboration with vascular surgeon ,Hybrid aortic stent programme was started with complex thoracic and abdominal aneurysm
- A set up of separate Vascular DSA LAB was made with the help of director, so that the wide array of vascular disease patients is benifited by
