I am a senior academician and an Ophthalmologist by profession having completed my MBBS from JIPMER Pondicherry and MS Ophthalmology from Mysore Medical College and I am working as a Professor in the department of Ophthalmology at JSS Medical College which is one of the prestigious Medical College of our country. I am also a member of JSS University Board of studies for Undergraduates and Postgraduates. Teaching is my passion and I enjoy the blossoming of the youngsters in academics. My area of interest is Vascular diseases of the Retina and I have conducted few ICMR funded projects in this field. I have been a part of global multicentric clinical trials related to vascular disorders of the retina and a new route of drug administration via Suprachoroidal route. I am also an Art of Living and a yoga teacher and I conduct stress management courses for the students and faculty.
My objective is to strengthen all the sub specialities of Ophthalmology in the department and focus on quality care and excellent patient experience every time. In the long term to bring out the best in the department by teamwork and original research. Stimulating the students to be thorough in their basics and providing opportunity for practical hands on training in all sub specialities of Ophthalmology including ophthalmic surgery. Preparing the students for competitive examinations to further their career. To inculcate in the students a flare for original thinking and research and to provide a stress free environment where all these can be nurtured.
